"We're overjoyed to be partnering with Credly. Through digital credentials, our community will have one more way to receive recognition for their knowledge and expertise, and be able to communicate their digital story to the world."
"Recipients of Experts Exchange digital credentials are able to trade on the value of their demonstrated expertise in a way that not only recognizes, but verifies their skills and accomplishments."
We are committed to providing you with the tools necessary to achieve your professional goals and we understand that communicating your credentials in an ever-expanding online marketplace can be challenging. That is why we've partnered with Credly to issue portable and secure credentials that empower you as earners by making your skills more transparent. Digital badges can be used in email signatures or digital resumes, and on social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. This digital image contains verified metadata that describes your qualifications and the process required to earn them.
Currently, digital badges are only available to Certified Experts. For members of Experts Exchange who are interested in obtaining digital badges of their own, stay tuned for updates on our partnership with Credly. We plan to move forward and make badges available to all users on Experts Exchange.
As of now, Credly badges are only presented to winners of five different Expert Awards (see below).
Once you have earned a badge, you will receive an email from Credly. EE will be the one issuing your badge through the Credly platform.
Follow the directions in the email from Credly. First time users will be required to create an account within Credly's platform. Return users will be asked to sign in and claim their badge.
Once you have created your Credly account, you will be able to accept your pending EE badge through your Credly dashboard. From there, you will be able to edit your badge “settings”.
Connect your social media accounts to your Credly profile! You can post the unique badge URL on social media, embed the badge on a personal website, or send via email.

Gold Status Certified Experts have been thoroughly vetted for their expertise and experience in the IT industry. They are professionals in their field who have demonstrated their knowledge through consistent and quality contributions. Experts with Gold status have received one of the following Expert Awards: Fellow, MVE, Expert of the Year, or Author of the Year. These are awarded once a year to experts who have been particularly active in the community.
The Fellow title is reserved for select members who demonstrate sustained contributions, industry leadership, and outstanding performance. We will announce the experts being inducted into the Experts Exchange Fellowship during the annual Expert Awards, but unlike other awards, Fellow is a lifelong status. This title may not be given every year if there are no obvious candidates.
The Most Valuable Expert award recognizes technology experts who passionately share their knowledge with the community, demonstrate the core values of this platform, and go the extra mile in all aspects of their contributions. This award is based off of nominations by EE users and experts. Multiple MVEs may be awarded each year.
The Expert of the Year award recognizes an expert who helped improve Experts Exchange in the past year through high levels of contributions and participation on site. This award is given to the expert who has achieved the highest levels of participation, while maintaining quality contributions and professionalism.
This award recognizes an author who contributes a high volume of original content. Recipients of this award produce extremely valuable content that prioritizes accuracy, relevancy, and professionalism.
Open badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online.
We have partnered with Credly’s platform to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a badge. The technology Credly uses is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.
Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re now capable of. Credly also offers labor market insights, based on your skills. You can search and apply for job opportunities right through the Credly platform.
Credly is a digital badge platform that works with credible organizations to provide digital credentials to individuals, worldwide.
You will receive an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.
You can easily configure your privacy settings in Credly. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.
No. This is a service we provide to you, at no cost.
While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on the Credly platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.
You can share your badge directly from the Credly platform to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook; over email; embedded in a website or in your email signature.
Labor market insights are pulled from live job requisitions. Based on your skills you can learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges and more. Search active job listings and even apply for them with just a few clicks through Credly. Access the labor market insights from your badge details page by clicking on Related Jobs, or by clicking on the skill tags assigned to your badge.
Yes, you can download your badge from the Share Badge page. Your downloaded badge contains Open Badge Infrastructure (OBI) compliant metadata embedded into the image. This allows you to store your badge on other OBI-compliant badge sites, such as the Mozilla backpack.
